Q
What is RTF?
A
Instructors generally ask that any word document be
submitted in RTF format to avoid incompatible formats
between word processing applications. RTF stands for Rich
Text Format. Rich Text Format is a special format that can be
used by most word processing applications. As a result it does
not matter what word processing application is used to create
a document if it is saved as an RTF document most other
word processing applications will be able to open it.
Remember if your instructor cannot open your document he
cannot grade it.

To save a file in RTF format use the drop down box “File
Type” and select “RTF” or “Rich Text Format” when saving the
file.

Q
In Assignment Dropbox, submission status is marked Missed
even though I submitted the assignment on time.
A
When a student missed the cut off date for the assignment,
Blackboard automatically submits the assignment for them and
assigns it the status of missed.

We have to believe that the student believes that they did
submit the assignment correctly, however we have seen
instances where they did not click the submit button.
